Applications: Chills and fever, no sweating, muscle aches, headache, nasal congestion, runny nose, postnasal drip, sneezing, coughing, diarrhea, wheezing and lack of appetite; also for treatment of hangover from alcohol, postpartum stroke, dizziness with blurry vision, eclampsia, acute fibrositis, toothache, with symptoms of thin coated tongue, floating pulse.
Today's Clinical Usage: influenza, pneumonia, bronchitis, headache, chronic shoulder pain, skin inflammation, rheumatism. smell disappears after flu or cold.
Composition:
gan cao 7.5 g, ge gen 15 g, sheng jiang 3 slices, ma huang 5.5 g, hong zao 4 piece (remove pits), shao yao 12 g, gui zhi 12 g.
Boil with 2 and a half bowls of water. Simmer till 80% of a bowl (serving size) is left. Strain. Drink it an hour after meal, while the tea is warm.
Smell disappeared after cold or flu: add:jie geng, huang qin, xin yi, chuan xiong..
葛根湯 《傷寒論 》
主 治 ﹕
太陽病:項背強痛,無汗惡風,或太陽與陽明合病下利,惡 寒 發熱無汗,鼻 塞 ﹐ 流 涕 咳 嗽 ﹐ 喘滿不食;亦治酒疸,產 後中風,頭目眩暈,痰盛氣急,子癇,落枕,齒痛﹐ 苔薄白,脈浮。
現代應用 ﹕感冒, 流行性感冒, 肺炎, 支氣管炎,傷風後嗅覺消失, 頭痛, 肩凝痛, 神經痛, 各種皮膚症﹐風濕,瘭疽, 小兒麻痺, 破傷風, 白喉,猩紅熱, 百日咳, 咽喉炎, 扁桃肥大症, 顏面神經麻痺, 角膜炎, 麥粒腫, 結膜炎, 砂眼, 各種眼疾, 中耳炎, 外耳道炎, 齒痛, 蓄膿症, 鼻炎, 鼻塞, 副鼻腔炎, 耳下腺炎, 腦膜炎, 淋巴腺炎, 乳腺炎, 腸熱,急性大腸炎, 赤痢初起及其他化膿症等。
組成﹕
甘草二錢, 葛 根 四錢, 生薑 三片, 麻黃錢半 紅棗 去核 四枚, 芍藥三錢, 桂枝三錢。
水 兩 碗 半, 煎 八 分. 飯後. 一小時溫服.
