Samples of formulae :處方舉例﹕ | - For itchy skin﹕ bai hua she she cao 30 g, sheng di huang15 g, tu fu ling 12 g, add 1 pound of pond loach (Misgurnus anguillicaudatus, ( ni qiu ). Add water and make soup.
- cancer of digestive tract; hemorrhoids﹕ bai hua she she cao﹐ban zhi lian, and mao gen Make into decoction. It is especially effective for cancer of the rectum or hemorrhoid.
- Acne: bai hua she she cao 20 g, mai dong 15 g, sheng di huang 15 g, xuan shen 10 g. Add 1200 cc of water and simmer down to 500 cc. Strain. Make into 2 servings. Add 1000 cc of water to the herb and re-boil for about 20 minutes. Use it to wash the affected areas. Avoid using cosmetics.
- 皮膚癢﹕ 白花蛇舌草30克﹐生地黃15克 ﹐土伏苓12克﹐泥 鳅 半公斤。作湯。
- 消化道癌﹐痔﹕ 白花蛇舌草﹐半枝蓮 ﹐茅 根。 水煎服。對直腸癌有較好療效。
- 痤瘡：白花蛇舌草20克，麥 冬，生地黃各15克，玄 參10克，每日1劑，水煎2次，共500毫 升，分2次服，藥渣可加水1000毫 升煎液，待温後洗患處，每日3～4次。治療期間忌用化妝品。

Modern Research: 現代研究﹕ | (1) Bai hua she she cao can activate reticuloendothelial system and increase phagocytosis by lymphocytes. (2) In high concentrations, preparations have shown to inhibit cells from acute lymphocytic and acute granulocytic leukemia. (3) Effective in treatment of appendicitis. (4) Treatment of snake bites. Applied topically and taken orally. (5) Enhances adrenocortical hormone. (6) Inhibits sperm production. |
Cautions: 禁忌﹕ | In rare cases, allergic reactions of discomfort and rash and itches may show up on the upper limbs with sharp itchiness, and may cause breathing difficulty. Prevention : To use bai hua she she cao, start with small amount of 10 grams and gradually increase to 30-60 grams. Antidote : If allergic reactions occur, use chlorpheniramine 4 mg, three times a day, taken orally. |
